Day 122 - Passover: His Never-Dying Love For Us
Focal Scripture: Luke 22:14-30
Hello guys, my name is Bryan, and welcome to Bible Scoop. Today, we turn our minds to the focal scripture of the festival of Passover, which is celebrated by all Christians in the world. The focal scripture is Luke, its 22nd chapter verses 14-30. https://www.bible.com/bible/296/LUK.22.14-30
In this scripture, as we all know, is a very familiar scripture that has a very big hold in our minds, especially in the time of Lent. Through this scripture, Jesus Christ, on this very holy day, is trying to tell us two essential things that we might have missed out when we take a look at this scripture.
The first thing Jesus Christ wants to tell us is that we have to look back at what he did on that table that day when he was celebrating the Passover festival with his disciples. Jesus Christ is telling us that we are in the position of the disciples every year, or because we are the chosen people of God. When we read this scripture, Jesus proclaims or gives up his own body and blood for the disciples or us in this instance. Jesus Christ gave up everything and chose the path of suffering to save us from walking on our path of sin.
Jesus Christ is trying to prove to us the untouchable or never-seen love that he had for us to even give up his own body and blood for us. And now, if you look closely, Jesus Christ had that feeling of wanting to eat in this particular festival as this was going to be the complete flip of the lifestyle or lives of Christians. Jesus had this want in him because he knew clearly that this was going to be the reincarnation of human life.
And before Jesus gave up his body and blood, he said that “I will never eat it until it is given its full meaning in the Kingdom of God,” and, “I tell you that from now on I will not drink this wine until the Kingdom of God comes.” What Jesus meant through this is that he will only come back into this world on his second coming, on the Judgement Day.
Until then, he will not interfere that much with all the worldly things or actions of humans as much because he came down into this world took up the cup of suffering to save us and he has set an example of how to live proper spiritual life, not to mention the fact about the huge or tremendous amount of parables that he has sais to reflect our lives and to learn from our mistakes.
The second thing Jesus Christ wants to tell us is that we have to be like Jesus Christ from this day on. He clearly says that the greatest person of all is the one who humbles him the greatest. As Jesus said that he is the one who serves, we have to humble ourselves in front of everybody to be like him. This will surely make us great in front of the eyes of God.
Jesus Christ also tells us indirectly, through what he said to his disciples, that if we go through Jesus, love him through all our trials and believe that Jesus Christ is the one and only way, we will surely eat and drink at his table in the Kingdom of God.
So friends from today onwards, let us remember to love Jesus the most for his undying love towards us, which can be proven to us by today’s Passover festival, as he gave up his own body and blood for us. Let us also not forget to be like Jesus Christ from today onwards, by humbling ourselves to the lowest to be great in front of the eyes of God. And, lastly, let us not forget to remember the fact that Jesus Christ gave up his body and blood and went through this Passover festival to bring to light HIS NEVER-DYING LOVE FOR US!
