Day 123 - Good Friday: Complete Salvation Of Humanity

 Focal Scripture: John 19:23-30

Hello guys, my name is Bryan, and welcome to Bible Scoop. Today, we look in sorrow at the scripture of Jesus Christ's crucifixion on the Cross, which is in John its 19th chapter, verses 23-30. https://www.bible.com/bible/296/JHN.19.23-30

In this scripture, we see our saviour, Jesus Christ, crucified on the Cross not for what he did wrong but for the salvation of humanity. We are very familiar with this Bible scripture as this is the scripture symbolising the most sorrowful day for Christians, Good Friday. Jesus Christ, through his crucifixion and suffering, wants to tell us three things.

One, when Jesus’ mother was next to him on the Cross, with his loved disciple he told his mother, “He is your son,” and told his loved disciple, “She is your mother”. What we can understand through this is the literal proof of giving up everything. Jesus Christ gave up everything that he even gave up his own mother, who gave birth to him and cared for him his entire life. Jesus Christ is trying to make us understand that when he said, “She is your mother,” he was showing that he gave up everything for us, as he gave his mother to his disciple.

Disciple, according to the dictionary, means ‘a follower or pupil of a teacher, leader, or philosopher.’ We are right now disciples of God as we listen to his teaching and understand it. So, when Jesus gave his mother to his loved disciple, he gave her to us. He made Mother Mary our very own mother from that day on. Jesus made Mother Mary pray for us and take care of us as her children, when Jesus gave up his position being her child and put that position on us.

Second, when Jesus said that he was thirsty, we gave him the cheapest wine possible. Jesus cared for us and took care of us and gave us all his blessing and crucified for us, and what we’re giving back is the cheapest and lowest quality of wine. Jesus Christ, here is trying to reflect on our daily life, when he gives all his blessings on us and cares for us, but we give him the lowest, most possible love back, we don't pray to him or show him our love properly.

Third, Jesus Christ, through his crucifixion, tries to make us be like the thief on the right side, as he repented and believed that Jesus Christ was his way. Jesus Christ is telling us that when we repent and understand, and proclaim that Jesus died on the Cross for us and loved us so much that he gave up everything for us, we will be in Paradise with him, as this is what he said to the thief on the right side.

So friends from today onwards, let us not forget Jesus’ crucifixion on the Cross and that he gave up everything, even his own Mother, for us. Let us also remember to give back to God for all his blessings as much as possible, as he did all of this for us, and let us not continue to give back the cheapest love as we used to do. And lastly, let us not forget to remember to take this crucifixion of Jesus as a turning point for us. Let us be like the thief on the right side, repenting and understanding that Jesus Christ died for us on the Cross even though he did not do anything. And last but not least, let us know and be sure that this blessed crucifixion surely brought the COMPLETE SALVATION OF HUMANITY!
