Day 119 - Patience Leads To Result
Focal Scripture: Luke 13:10-17
Hello everyone, my name is Bryan, and welcome to Bible Scoop. Today, we’re going to turn heads towards the book of Luke, its 13th chapter, verses 10-17. https://www.bible.com/bible/296/LUK.13.10-17
In this scripture, we can find a very famous or well-known story. We can see Jesus Christ curing a crippled woman who was crippled for 18 years. This scripture might seem straightforward, but in reality, there is a lesson Jesus Christ is trying to bring to light in front of us. Let us see what it is.
The lesson Jesus Christ is trying to bring to light is that the bent woman in this scripture represents everyone in this world. And now we might think, we’re not bent or crippled in any manner, then how is this so?
This is so, because the “bent” or “being crippled” according to Jesus is the sins that we are doing in our everyday life. These sins are a burden for us, and we are getting bent. Now, if we look closely, we can understand this scenario: Jesus was teaching in a synagogue, and this woman was listening to him. At that time, Jesus saw her and cured her of her illness.
So, as sinners, we should not think God will find us and cure us; it is true he sees everything, but we have to repent and go to him. That’s what this lady was doing, even though it was hard for her, she still had the mind to go to God and listen to him, having the self-courage that one day she would be cured. So, we have to wait patiently and repent to God, understanding our sins and praying for our forgiveness, then only will we get cured from our “bent”.
So, friends from today onwards, let us make sure to understand that the first important thing to repenting or getting cured from being crippled is understanding our sins. Let us understand that we have to go to God to repent. Let us not forget that this lady had to wait 18 years to get cured, and let us not be sad because surely through this scripture God is telling us that PATIENCE LEADS TO RESULT!
