Day 112 - Our Father

 Focal Scripture: Luke 1:5-25

Hello everyone, my name is Bryan and welcome to Bible Scoop. Today we jump into the book of Luke, its 1st chapter verses 5-25. https://www.bible.com/bible/296/LUK.1.5-25

In this scripture, we can see the angel of the Lord, Gabriel, appearing to Zechariah while he was doing his work as a priest in the temple. We can further see, that because of Zechariah’s and his wife, Elizabeth’s old age, they could not have kids, but this appearance happened to tell them that they were going to have a kid. From this scripture, God wants us to comprehend three very important things. Let’s see what it is.

The first thing God wants us to comprehend is that God knows the right time for everything. Now, we know that it is impossible for Zechariah and Elizabeth to have kids at this very old age, but God gave them kids now. He knew that after they lived in this world for so many years, now was the actual time they needed to have the responsibility of taking care of a child. We do not know the reason why God delayed Zechariah and Elizabeth from having kids, but we do know one thing from the years that we lived in this world, from the years God has kept us safe and happy, that whatever reason it may be it is always the best for them. Same for us too.

In our daily lives, we pray too, we pray for things that we want at a particular time, whenever it may be. But God knows the actual time we need whatever we ask for. Because he has a set schedule for each of us, a different one for each person, he knows the time for whatever we’re going to do in life, he knows the things we are going to do every second because he is beside us every single second taking care of us and loving us the most.

The second thing is when Gabriel said this about John the Baptist, “He will go ahead of the Lord, strong and mighty like the prophet Elijah. He will bring fathers and children together again; he will turn disobedient people back to the way of thinking of the righteous; he will get the Lord's people ready for him.” God wants us to understand from this, that he didn’t only want John the Baptist to be like this but he wanted John the Baptist to be an example for us. He wants every single person in this world, to live by him, to live in love with him and to tell other people of the love of God (preaching the Word of God).

He loves us so much, and this is only the little that we can give back to him. He’s also saying that the world might provide happiness, joy, and no sadness but that is only temporary, he’s saying that when we walk on the path of spirituality, holding his hands, there might be sadness and there might be downs here on this world but when we continue walking on that path with him, there will be something that no world can provide, forever happiness, eternal life. He’s saying, this is the best option for any person.

The third thing is, that we can be like Zechariah sometimes in our lives. We may have moved away from God and have doubts about his power. But God at a certain time will come to us and ask us to understand the proper truth, come back to him and believe in him. But, we would not believe until we see miracles and changes in our lives. After we see miracles and all the good changes we will turn to Christ. God would accept us, but he would always want us to understand that he sent all his prophets for us to understand that we don't need to see miracles or anything else to understand that God will provide and that’s completely sure.

So friends from today onwards, let us understand that God knows the right time for everything. God knows our needs and God loves us, Let us make sure that we give at least 1% of love back to God of the 100% love given to us from God. Let us understand one more thing, let us understand that God is doing these beautiful things for us to believe in him without seeing miracles and because he is surely, OUR FATHER!
