Day 97 - Maundy Thursday: Pass Through Our Doorstep

 Focal Scripture: Luke 22:14-23

    In this scripture, as we all know is Jesus celebrating the Passover festival with his disciples. Now, we know most of the part of today, but today we’re going to learn about a reminder that God is telling us through this scripture. Let’s see what it is.

    The reminder from God is, that we have to believe in Jesus’ death on the cross for us. Because in Exodus 12:7 it says that the people for the Passover festival had to kill a lamb and put some of the blood on the doorsteps and above the doors. To continue (through the Bible verses), it also says that when they do this, God when he passes by the houses of the Egyptians he has to recognize the Israelites (the chosen people of God) so that he does not destroy their houses. And, this blood on the doorstep differentiates the Israelites and the Egyptians.

    And, since we’re Christians and part of the chosen people of God we have to follow this command by God. By we might be thinking, all of this is not practical for everyone, so how will we do it? That’s simple, just do what the reminder asks us to do, believe in Jesus’ death on the cross. Because, as the people killed the lamb we also did. We made Jesus Christ die for us because of our sins that we had done. 

    So, when the second coming of Jesus Christ happens, he will differentiate the houses who have believed in him and his death on the cross and the people who haven’t. He will destroy the people who haven't and save the people who have and always make them happy. To conclude, we have to believe in Jesus Christ’s death on the cross for us. 

    So friends from today onwards, let us remember to do this reminder. And, let us also know that in this Passover festival that each one of us is celebrating today at our homes, God wants to tell us that if we do this reminder God will surely PASS THROUGH OUR DOORSTEP!
