Day 92 - Understand God's Righteous Words
Focal Scripture: John 9:1-41
Hello everyone, my name is Bryan and welcome to Bible Scoop. Today, we turn our heads to the book of John, its 9th chapter verses, 1-41. Let’s go. https://www.bible.com/bible/296/JHN.9.1-41
In this scripture, we can see Jesus Christ healing a born blind person. Now, this scripture might be really long but from this scripture, we can learn so many wonderful things. Today, I would like to split this scripture into three and explain each part and tell how we are related to these parts.
First part. So, we can see that the healing of the person is in this first part. We can also see Jesus spitting on the ground and picking up the mud that the spit fell on and rubbing it on the born-blind person’s eyes. After this, we can see that Jesus is asking this man to go to the Pool of Siloam and wash his face.
Now through this, we can absolutely understand that the pool of Siloam did not heal this ‘born blind person’ but rather Jesus Christ. Specifically Jesus Christ’s words. Now, imagine if that person did not follow these words. If he did not follow these words, he would surely not be able to see.
We might be wondering, how are we related to this? We are related to this because this miracle done by Jesus Christ was to tell us that we have to follow the Words of God. Now, where are the “Words of God?" It is in the Bible, the Bible is Christ, the Word of God. So, obviously whatever God says is in the Bible. Now, this miracle is proof that if we follow God’s words (that is present in the Bible) we will surely be abundantly blessed, have eternal life and receive the Holy Spirit.
Second part. In this part, we can see the various questions that are being asked by the Pharisees to the ‘born blind person’ about the healing that he experienced. This part is clearly showing the unbelief in Jesus Christ. We are related to this because nowadays our faith in God is super low. And, sometimes too, we are like these Pharisees who did not believe because there were no miracles that they saw, who did not believe through the testimonies of people.
God through this part is telling us that, we should not be like these Pharisees. We should believe in Christ our Lord without seeing miracles or wonders. We should be true Christians like the disciples, who followed Jesus without even seeing miracles or wonders.
Third part. In this part, Spiritual Blindness is talked about. Now, this part is just technically a mixture of these 2 parts. Let me explain. Now, we sure do know that spirituality is the connection we have with God. Now, we become blind and cannot see God well enough and hence spirituality (the connection we have with God) decreases, we lose our connection with God. Which leads to the sadness of God, the stop to our abundant blessings, the loss of eternal life and lastly the losing the Holy Spirit who gives us the right thoughts and the right words and who leads us to God more and more every day.
So friends from today onwards, let us make sure to understand these three parts. In the first part, let us understand that if we follow the Word of God, we will be blessed abundantly, we will move closer to God and we will move on the right path with God beside us. Let us also understand that believing in God without seeing miracles/wonders is the right belief. Let us also remember to never lose the connection that we have with God (spirituality), because if we do, we will lose everything that is best for us. Let’s also remember one more thing, which is that if we understand these three parts we surely do UNDERSTAND GOD’S RIGHTEOUS WORDS!
