Day 89 - Fully Embrace Us

 Focal Scripture: Mark 2:1-12

Hey everyone, my name is Bryan and welcome to Bible Scoop. Today, we jump into the book of Mark, its 2nd chapter verses, 1-12. Let’s go. https://www.bible.com/bible/296/MRK.2.1-12

In this scripture, we can see a very familiar story/familiar miracle of Jesus Christ. Today, we’re not going to be running into the direct happenings but rather what happened in the background. So, when I say background you guys get a clue of what I am going to talk about. The people who helped the paralyzed man. I’m going to talk about them and how God is going to stretch out his lending hand.

First of all, let’s talk about how the scripture wants us to relate to those people who helped. The scripture is telling us to be like those people. Because as we can see in the scripture, those people did not give up on the paralyzed person, they did something that most people would not. They went on top of the roof, made an opening and lowered the man for Jesus.

The scripture is trying to tell us that no matter the problem that is facing us or no matter how big or strong the barrier in front of us is, we still should not give up on our brothers and sisters (the people around us). Because they need help too.

Second of all, let’s talk about how God is going to stretch out his lending hand. So, as we can see in the scripture, Jesus technically healed that paralyzed person because of faith, not only his but the other people who helped him there. So that brings us to the 2 main things we need for God to stretch out his lending hand.

The first main thing we need is, faith. Because through faith in God, we have reverence for God. So, when God sees our love he is surely going to want to help us. Because faith is a long process, and when God sees the amount of patience we have had, he will surely stretch out his hand. But there’s one more main thing in order for God to stretch out his lending hand.

The other/second main thing, is helping our brothers and sisters (the people around us). Because as James 2:17 says, faith without actions is dead. And, the actions that the Bible verse means, are to help those around us and not to give up on them. Only if we do this our faith is going to be complete, which also means our reverence to God. These actions are so important that without them we won’t have our Lord’s lending hand stretch out for us.

So friends from today onwards, let’s remember to help those people in need and never give up on them. Let’s remember to follow the actions and faith of the people who helped the paralyzed man that day. Let’s also remember the 2 main things for God to stretch out his lending hand. Let’s remember that without the second main thing, the first main thing will not work (without actions faith is dead). Let’s remember that if we follow those people and do these two main things, God won’t just stretch out his lending hand but God will FULLY EMBRACE US!
