Day 86 - Our Wait Will Lead To Our Joy
Focal Scripture: Luke 12:35-40
Hey everyone, my name is Bryan and welcome to Bible Scoop. Today, we jump into the book of Luke, its 12th chapter verses, 35-40. Let’s go. https://www.bible.com/bible/296/LUK.12.35-40
In this scripture, we see the series of Bible verses talking about Watchful Servants. Now we might be wondering how we are related to watchful servants, let's find out. Also, today we are specifically going to focus on verse 38.
First, let’s see how we are related to the term, “Watchful Servants”. Now, we can see that the scripture that we took, tells us that we have to be ready to welcome the master when the master reaches home. Now, another doubt pops up, we are not under any master.
Now, that’s what we think because of the name. Basically, the master is God. And, when the scripture talks about being ready for the coming of the master to the house. The scripture means for us to be ready for the second coming of Jesus Christ.
Second, let’s look at the reason why we specifically chose verse 38. It’s because of the deep meaning that each of us is missing out on. Let me explain.
Now, if we look at verse 38 it says, “How happy they are if he finds them ready, even if he should come at midnight or even later!” Okay, so we all know that midnight/even later is past our curfew. A doubt pops up, how is midnight related to God? It is not if we look at it in the normal way, but it is if we look at it through the spiritual way.
Now, in the “spiritual way”, midnight is said there to show that it’s going to happen after a late/long period of time. A doubt pops up, what’s going to happen after a late/long period of time? It’s the second coming of Jesus. So, basically, the scripture indirectly is telling us that the second coming of Jesus is going to happen after a long period of time and that we have to stick to our faith even though it's going to take a long time. We should not stop doing what he told us to do and keep our wait alive.
So friends from today onwards, let’s become ready so that we can become Watchful Servants. And let’s remember to always stick to our faith even though the master arrives after midnight or a little later than expected. And, let’s also remember that if we do all of this, OUR WAIT WILL LEAD TO OUR JOY!
