Day 85 - Faithful Servants
Focal Scripture: Matthew 24:45-54
Hey everyone, my name is Bryan and welcome to Bible Scoop. Today, we hop into the book of Matthew, its 24th chapter verses, 45-51. Let’s go. https://www.bible.com/bible/296/MAT.24.45-51
In this scripture, we can see the series of Bible verses talking about two different servants of God, number one servant is the faithful servant. The second servant is the unfaithful servant. Now, in today’s Bible Scoop, we are going to look deeper into what a faithful servant is and what an unfaithful servant is.
First, let’s talk about the faithful servant. Now as we can see in the Bible verse, the faithful servant is a servant who is put in charge by the master (God) to take care of his other servants and to give them the proper food at the proper time. Now, we might be thinking how is giving the proper food at the proper time related to us? When the scripture says food it doesn’t mean literal food but food that is coming from Heaven. And that food is the Word of God. So, basically when the scripture talks about the faithful servant giving the food at the proper time. It is talking about us sharing the Word of God with the world before the time, before the time when Jesus’s second coming.
Another question might pop up in our mind, which is, “The scripture says a servant will share the proper food at the proper time, so who is that one servant?” Now, the scripture doesn’t mean one servant in particular, the scripture means the people chosen by God to share the Word of God with the world. For example, the Disciples of God/us Christians.
Second, the unfaithful servants. Now, according to the scripture, the unfaithful servants are the servants who after the master (God) leaves, do whatever he/she wants. And, when the master (God) comes back and finds them not doing the things they were assigned to do, which is taking care of their fellow servants he will be super angry and not take him as his servants anymore.
Now, basically, when it’s connected to our lives, we sometimes do these kinds of stuff. Because, when God left us, he picked us, the chosen people who are Christians to take care of our spiritually illed & diseased fellow servants in the world who have turned away from God (which is to teach them the Word of God) but we don’t do that. And, when Jesus comes down for the second time, sure he will be angry at the people who have turned away from him, but he will especially be furious at us because it was our responsibility to take care of our fellow servants.
So friends from today onwards, let’s become faithful servants of God. Because as we can see it’s way, way better than being unfaithful servants. But, sometimes we do become unfaithful servants when we don’t take care of our fellow servants, and as we know God will be angry at us during his second coming. And, we just have to remember that the better choice is to obviously be FAITHFUL SERVANTS!
