Day 79 - The Lord's Servants
Focal Scripture: Luke 1:26-38
Hey everyone, my name is Bryan and welcome to Bible Scoop. Today, we turn our heads over to the book of Luke, its 1st chapter verses, 26-38. Let’s go. https://www.bible.com/bible/296/LUK.1.26-38
In this scripture, we can see a familiar story/event which is the Annunciation of the Birth of Jesus Christ. Now, there’s one more thing that we have to know, we have to know that this was one of the biggest nights in history. Today we are just going to look at one out of the many other important life lessons found in this story. Let’s get into it.
If we go deeper into this series of Bible verses, we can understand that Mother Mary at first was afraid not only because of the things that Gabriel Angel said to her since she was only 13 years old but also because Gabriel Angel appeared to her. All of this was a lot to process. Now we can see that Mother Mary had doubts about how she would give birth to Jesus Christ.
But we have to know something. Even in the midst of all these things Mother Mary didn’t want to go against the will of God. Even though she thought that what Gabriel Angel said was practically impossible, she stood by it and accepted it, because she knew that it was the plan of God. The proof of the fact that she accepts it is when she says, “I am the Lord's servant, may it happen to me as you have said.” (GNBUK)
This right here is what we have to follow. Even though we might think that something is impossible we have to know that Jesus Christ knows everything and he knows that this particular thing that seems insanely impractical and irrational is right for us. The best way to show that we know is to humble ourselves to God every day of our lives (pray) and proclaim that ‘We are the servant of the Lord, may it happen to me as you have said.’
So friends from today onwards, let’s do what Mother Mary did. Let's humble ourselves in front of God. And when we do, God will surely be so happy with his children. And we have to remember that when we do humble ourselves, we surely will be THE LORD’S SERVANTS!
