Day 76 - Jesus Christ Is The Messiah
Focal Scripture: Matthew 16:13-20
Hey everyone, my name is Bryan and welcome to Bible Scoop. Today, we jump into the book of Matthew, its 16th chapter verses, 13-20. Let’s go. https://www.bible.com/bible/296/MAT.16.13-20
In this scripture, we can see two things, number 1, Jesus Christ asking about how the people there and how St. Peter looks at Jesus Christ. Number 2, the beginning of the Church. Now, if we go deeper into the Bible verses, we can see that Jesus Christ is telling us two important things.
The first important thing is when someone asks us who the Son of Man is, our answer should not be a prophet/a person. But rather the answer should be, the Messiah, the Messiah who sacrificed himself for us. The answer should be the exact mirror of what St. Peter said.
The second important thing is that the Church helps us understand that Jesus is the Messiah. Now we might be wondering how. When St. Peter said that Jesus Christ is the Messiah, Jesus Christ named him as the rock foundation of the Church. Basically, the base of the Church. So, now we know that the Church is the guide to our journey to understand Jesus Christ. Because the Church’s base is St. Peter. And St. Peter is the person who said that Jesus Christ is the Messiah.
So friends from today onwards, let’s remember these two important things Jesus wanted to tell us. Let’s always remember that the Son of Man is the Messiah. Let’s also remember that the Church is the guide to our journey to understand Jesus Christ. Let’s also remember that JESUS CHRIST IS THE MESSIAH!
