Day 75 - Right Worships
Focal Scripture: Luke 18:9-14
Hey everyone, my name is Bryan and welcome to Bible Scoop. Today, we jump to the book of Luke, its 18th chapter verses, 9-14. Let's go. https://www.bible.com/bible/431/LUK.18.9-14
In this scripture, we see Jesus telling the people there, a parable. But, we should know that God meant it for us too. We can understand that this parable that Jesus told us through this scripture, tells us two reasons as to why we should not follow the actions of the Pharisees.
Now, the first reason as to why Jesus asked us not to be like the Pharisees is because, as we saw in the Bible verse, the Pharisees was praying for something, that was, for their situation not to be as bad as other people. So, God through this scripture is telling us that when we pray, this should not be the way we pray. God is telling us this, we should always be able to pray for people in need and are weak in faith. We should pray for those who suffer in their worst times.
The second reason as to why Jesus asked us not to be like the Pharisees through this scripture is because, when the Pharisees was praying, he was very prideful. He was also very certain that he was perfect and free of wrong. Through this scripture, Jesus is telling us to pray like the tax collector, because even though he was rich in terms of worldly money, he still humbled himself in front of God and repented for his own sins.
So friends from today onwards, let’s remember these two points. Let's always remember that if we understand and don't do the incorrect things that the Pharisees did, we surely will give God the RIGHT WORSHIP!
