Day 74 - Two Must Follows

Focal Scripture: Matthew 23:1-12

    Hey everyone, my name is Bryan and welcome to Bible Scoop. Today, we turn our heads to the book of Matthew, its 23rd chapter verses, 1-12. Let’s go. https://www.bible.com/bible/296/MAT.23.1-12

    In this scripture, we can see Jesus telling about the bad things that the Teachers of the Law and the Pharisees do, that we should not follow. Now if we go deeper into this scripture, we can understand that God is trying to tell us two important things. We can also understand, that the first important thing God wants to tell us, starts from verse, 1-10. The second important thing that God wants to tell us starts from verse, 11-12.

    As we can see these Teachers of the Law/Pharisees are doing the bad thing. Which is, preaching the Word of God/Moses’ Law but not living by its actions. This is what God does not want us to do. Now, God wants to tell us, that when we preach the Word of God, we have to do one thing before we do it, which is to live by the actions of what we’re preaching. And, then only will whatever we’re preaching, will go deep into the hearts of the people who’s receiving our preaching.

    The second important thing that God wants to tell us is that, when God says, “Whoever makes himself great will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be made great.” God means, that no matter how much we achieve in this life or how big we’ve gotten in terms of, success, wealth, etc. We should not brag about it but rather, humble ourselves in front of God and live according to his will. We should always keep in mind that whatever achievements we get in this life of ours, we should always keep them secondary to God. And when we do this let’s remember that, God will make us greater.

    So friends from today onwards, let’s always keep in our minds these two important things that God told us through this scripture. Let's remember to act in accordance with what we preach, before we instruct others to do the same. Let’s remember that God will make those humble, great. Let’s also understand that if we do these two important things in our everyday lives, we will be blessed by God abundantly. And, let’s also remember that these two important things are the TWO MUST FOLLOWS!
