Day 63 - Best Assurance

Focal Scripture: Luke 12:13-21

Hey everyone, my name is Bryan and welcome to Bible Scoop. Today, we turn to the book of Luke, its 12th chapter, verses, 13-21. Let’s go. https://www.bible.com/bible/431/LUK.12.13-21

In this scripture, we see Jesus answering a question asked by a man in the crowd, and Jesus telling a parable to the people there. Now, if we go to the deeper meaning of these Bible verses we can understand that Jesus is telling us something important. For today, we’re going to focus on verse 16 and the parable said by Jesus.

The first thing Jesus tells us is to guard ourselves against any kind of greed. And, there are two reasons why. The first reason is that greed comes directly from the devil. The best example was when the devil wanted to become like God and was thrown to hell.

The second reason why is because, when we have greed, we expect too much. We expect to do so much tomorrow, or in the coming years. But, before we expect too much or have greed we should understand that, we don’t know if we’re going to see the daylight of tomorrow’s morning, we don’t know if we’re even going to wake up tomorrow. And, we should understand that it’s not us that decide if we’re going to wake up tomorrow, it’s Jesus. So, Jesus through this scripture is telling us to spend each day of our life with prayer. Because prayer will give us protection from any kind of danger and prayer will give us the assurance that we’re going to wake up tomorrow.

So friends, from today onwards, let’s guard ourselves against any kind of greed. Let’s do what Jesus told us to do through this scripture, which is to spend each day of our lives with prayer. And, let’s also remember that when we pray we get the BEST ASSURANCE!
