Day 51 - A Strong Proclamation

Focal Scripture: John 21:15-19

Hey everyone, my name is Bryan and welcome to Bible Scoop. Today, we jump into the book of John its 21st chapter verses 15-19. Let’s go. https://www.bible.com/bible/296/JHN.21.15-19

In this scripture, we can see Jesus asking Peter three times if he loves Jesus. Now, if we go to the deeper meanings of this Bible verse, we can understand that this scripture is relevant to us and that this scripture is teaching us something.

Peter’s responses to all the times he was questioned are really inspirational to us. And here’s why, Peter wasn’t just asked this question once, rather he was asked this thrice. This is relevant to us because, in life, there are times when our loyalty to and faith in Christ is questioned. Not once, but several different times.

These questions can come in the form of hardships, trials and tough situations. These moments start to ask us, ‘You’re going through all this and where’s your saviour?’ ‘Is it worth staying with him after not receiving any help at all?’ ‘Is it worth going through all this for his name’s sake?’

And it’s when we’re asked these questions that we should follow in Peter’s footsteps and boldly exclaim, ‘Jesus, I love you and I’d do anything to continue loving you.’ This is what God values, this unchanging love and loyalty. If we’re able to adapt this mindset in life, it’s very safe to say that we’ll be well off. We’ll be exalted in all that we do if we make A STRONG PROCLAMATION!
