Day 39 - Deliver Us From Evil

Focal Scripture: Matthew 4:1-11

    Hey everyone, my name is Bryan and welcome to Bible Scoop. Before we hop into the focal scripture of today, I just want to thank God for giving us his Holy Spirit so that we could understand and reflect on the Bible chapters we went through, for forty days.     In this scripture, we can see Jesus being tempted by Satan at the dessert, forty days after he fasted. Now, if we go to the deeper meanings of this Bible verse, we can understand that Jesus is telling us two super important things through this temptation that he went through. 

    The first super important thing Jesus wants to say through this temptation that he went through is that, we can be tempted by the devil in so many ways, one of the ways is, the devil will strike us on the weak spot of us, meaning the spot where we suffer the most and the spot where we can give up super fast. Another way is that the devil will use the scripture as an advantage to make us sin because we’ll think that whatever sinful deed the devil planned for us is good because we think it appears in scripture. 

    The second super important thing that Jesus wants to tell us through this temptation experience that he went through is to not give up fast regardless of whatever weak spot the devil strikes at. We have to have the knowledge that God the creator of Heaven and Earth is right beside us, we also have to know that we can be saved from as many layers of temptation that we face. Our God will deliver us from evil. 

    So, friends from today onwards, let’s not give up whenever the devil strikes at our weak spot, and let’s have the knowledge that God the creator of Heaven and Earth is right beside us, let’s know that we can be saved from as many layers of temptation we face and let’s know that God’s going to deliver us from evil. And after we do all of this, let’s be glad knowing that God did DELIVER US FROM EVIL!
