Day 35 - Spiritual Heights
Focal Scripture: Luke 19:1-10
Hello everyone, my name is Bryan and welcome to Bible Scoop. Today, we hop into the book of Luke, its 19th chapter verses, 1-10. Let’s go. https://www.bible.com/bible/296/LUK.19.GNBUK
In this scripture, we see a tax collector looking for Jesus from on top of a sycamore tree, because, a huge crowd was blocking his sight. Now, from this scripture, we can understand that we’re a lot like Zacchaeus in some way and that we have to learn from Zacchaeus in some way.
Now, we are a lot like Zacchaeus because we have the same height as him but not in terms of physical height but in terms of spiritual height. Spiritual height means our height in faith. And due to this height, it may already be pretty tough to see and experience Jesus, but what makes it even harder is the tall crowd blocking our vision. That big crowd are the temptations.
Zacchaeus understood and admitted his shortcomings and his weak points and was willing to take the effort to do whatever it took to see and experience Jesus. And that's exactly what he did, and that's what he was rewarded for. This is what we should take note of and this is what we should apply to our lives. We should understand that we're sinners, but that shouldn't stop us from climbing in terms of our spirituality. We should try to get higher up, to get a closer look at Christ so that we may experience what Zacchaeus experienced, an inner urge to repent and turn to Christ.
So, friends let’s follow Zacchaeus and climb spiritually to overcome the obstacle that prevents us from seeing and experiencing Christ, our crowd, our sins. Let's try and get to SPIRITUAL HEIGHTS!
