Day 8 - Awaited Goodness
Focal Scripture: Luke 6:37-41
Hello everyone, my name is Bryan Anju Mathew and welcome to Bible Scoop. Today, we dive into the book of Luke, its 6th chapter verses 37-41. Let’s go. https://www.bible.com/bible/296/LUK.6.GNBUK
In this scripture, we can see that Jesus is telling us not to judge others and not to condemn others and that we don't have the right to take the speck out of our brother's eye before taking the log out of our own eye.
So now, if we don’t judge and condemn others we will not be judged or condemned by God and we will receive a generous full measure of helping and blessings poured onto our hands. And, we might be thinking what is that generous full measure of helping poured onto our hands? Let’s answer that question.
The Holy Spirit is the full measure because, when we have the Holy Spirit we know what to do in the name of God and how to proclaim the Gospel and that’s the full measure God wants us to have. And, the Holy Spirit is the generous helping because through the Holy Spirit we can get closer to God and that’s the best help we can get on Earth.
Now, let’s talk about verses 39-42. If we go to the deeper meanings of these verses, we can understand that Jesus is not literally telling us to take the log out of our eye before taking the speck out of our brothers. Let me explain.
The log that this scripture is referring to are the sins that we committed and the speck is the sins others committed. So, what this scripture means is that we have no right to ask others to stop sinning before we stop sinning.
So, my dear friends, let’s follow this scripture. Let’s not judge or condemn others for the wrongs they did and let’s patiently wait for the full measure and the generous helping awaiting us, And, let’s not take the speck out of others’ eye before taking the log in ours. And, let’s receive the AWAITED GOODNESS!
