Day 7 - Children Of The Most High God

 Focal Scripture: Luke 6:27-36

    Hello everyone, my name is Bryan Anju Mathew and welcome to Bible Scoop. Today, we head into the book of Luke again, its 6th chapter, verses 27-36. Let’s go. https://www.bible.com/bible/296/LUK.6.GNBUK

In this scripture, we can see that Jesus Christ is telling us to love, do good, bless and pray for those who, hate us, curse us and ill-treat us. And, let the person who slaps us on one cheek, slap the other. 

    Now, we can list out three factors as to why Jesus is telling us to love our enemies. The first factor is that Jesus never wants his children to sin against him or not be with him spiritually. And, our minds might be thinking “what do you mean be with him spiritually?” And, what this scripture means when it says being with Jesus spiritually, is to love God from the inside.

    The second factor is that God shows love and compassion to those who are ungrateful and wicked to him (as said in verse 35). And we have to be like God, because we are his children. And, the best example of God showing love and compassion to those who are ungrateful and wicked to him is when he sent his own son down here on Earth for the forgiveness of our sins.

    And finally, the third factor as to why Jesus is telling us to love our enemies, is because God loves us and he wants us to do the right thing all the time, and so the right thing to do is to show compassion and love to your enemies.

    So friends, from today onwards, let’s be the right people God wants us to be. Let’s be the people who shows love and compassion to our enemies no matter what they do to us. And, let’s be, THE CHILDREN OF THE MOST HIGH GOD!
