Hey everyone, my name is Bryan and welcome to Bible Scoop. Today, we dive into the book of Luke, its 4th chapter, verses, 31-35. Let’s go. https://www.bible.com/bible/296/LUK.4.GNBUK
In this scripture, we can see Jesus commanding an evil spirit to get out of a man. Yes, this looks like a regular miracle, but buried deep within it, is a very important spiritual lesson. This lesson really speaks to us. Now, we might be thinking, we have no evil spirits in our bodies! We’re acting normal right? Yes, we’re normal in our worldly life but we’re not in terms of our spiritual life. Because the evil spirit in us are the temptations that make us sin.
The evil spirit in us (the temptations) tempt us all the time, and sometimes we think that these temptations are pleasing and we do it, and when we do it we sin. And, yes this is incredibly bad in the eyes of God. But our God is a loving and merciful God, He is going to take notice of the evil spirit and drive it out. But, this doesn’t give us a free pass to sin.
And, this evil spirit in us is going to listen to God because it knows that it’s no match for God. And, the reason why God’s doing this is because, he wants his children to come back to him, be free from sin and realize that He cured us.
So, friends let’s remember that no matter the kind of evil spirit in us, it’s not going to be a match for God. And, that God is going to command this evil spirit in us to leave, and it will do the exact thing. And, let’s also remember that the reason why God does this, is because he wants his children to come to him, be free from sin and realize that He cured us and that He CLEANSED US FROM SIN!
