Day 25 - The Path Of God
Focal Scripture: Luke 1:26-38
Hello everyone, my name is Bryan and welcome to Bible scoop. Today, we will be heading to the book of Luke. Its 1st chapter verses, 26-38. Let's go. https://www.bible.com/bible/296/LUK.1.GNBUK
In this scripture, we see God's angel Gabriel coming to Mother Mary to announce the news that she was going to give birth to The Son Of God.
So, the first thing we have to understand about this passage is that God sent his angel, Gabriel to Mother Mary for her to understand that she was going to be The Mother Of God and the deliverer of long-lasting eternal glory. This honour granted by God shows us that she was great in the eyes of God.
Sometimes we are in the position of Mother Mary who had the option to choose between the path of God and the path of worldly desires and sin. Let's break these 2 paths down!
So, when we break down God's path, there are two points that we have to highlight, the first key point of this path is that there is no room for sin and opposition against God. You have to humble yourself in the eyes of God and stay as obedient children to Him. The second key point is that you have to leave behind all worldly ties and sins.
Now, over to the breakdown of the path of sins and worldly desires. It's really simple. It's all about going in the opposite direction from what God instructed us to do.
So, from this passage, we already know the path Mother Mary chose, and it was obviously the path of God. But there are a few questions arising like, why did she take up that path? And how did she know that the decision that she took was the right one? And why is it considered a wonderful decision in The Eyes Of God?
Up first, the answer to why Mother Mary took that path? To sum it up, she was a God-fearing woman. She understood the importance of the role she was set to play in the ultimate salvation plan God had planned for all of humanity. And she really knew what was at stake. And above all, she knew that she was obliged to live by the commands of the Lord. She knew that God's words were her commands.
Over to answering the second question, how did Mother Mary know if whether or not the decision that she took was the right one? Mother Mary knew that if she took the path of worldly desires or sins she would have ended up nowhere other than the scorching fires of hell and, she knew that this path was nothing compared to the Path of God in terms of eternal glory and righteousness in the eyes of God.
And moving on to the last and final question, why was Mother Mary's decision considered as a wonderful decision in The Eyes Of God? To start off, God was pleased with Mother Mary. He was filled with delight due to Mother Mary's positive response that welcomed God's will into her life. The acceptance is 100% visible in the last verse of this passage where Mother Mary says “I am the Lord's servant, may it happen to me as you have said.” and this was when Mother Mary's words filled God with happiness.
So friends on this day, let us transform our mindsets to Mother Mary's with the help of The Holy Spirit. May our mindsets be one that can understand the importance of obeying God. May this transformation cause us to identify the one true and right path. The mindset that will make us walk on THE PATH OF GOD!
