Day 23 - Cured Of Sin

 Focal Scripture: Numbers 21:4-9

    Hello everyone, my name is Bryan and welcome to Bible Scoop. Before we jump into the focal scripture of today, I wanna wish all of you a Happy Mid-lent. With that being said, let’s jump into our focal scripture for today, Numbers 21, verses 4-9. Let’s go. https://www.bible.com/bible/296/NUM.21.GNBUK

    In this scripture, we see that the Israelites, as they were going on their way, lost their patience and spoke against God and Moses saying, “Why did you bring us out of Egypt to die in this desert, where there is no food or water? We can't stand any more of this miserable food!” So the Lord sends poisonous snakes to them and some get bitten and they die but the others who lived came to Moses and said, ”We sinned when we spoke against the LORD and against you. Now pray to the LORD to take these snakes away.” And, then Moses prays and God asks him to make a bronze snake and put it on a pole so that everyone who looks at it will be healed. And, they did get healed when they looked at the bronze snake. 

    Now, if we go to the deeper meanings of this Bible verse, we can understand that we have a similar situation to the Israelites. We’re getting bitten every single day, but not by literal snakes but with the poisonous bites of sin. And, back then the Israelites did have a solution which was looking at the bronze snake. And we too in this age, have a solution, and that solution is looking at the cross where Jesus Christ died for our sake. 

    So friends, from today onwards let’s look up to the cross where Jesus Christ was crucified and let’s pray to God so that these poisonous and venomous bites of sin won’t reach us. Let’s look for healing from God. And, after we do all of this, let’s thank God that we were CURED OF SIN!
