Day 20 - The Great Importance Of Faith

 Focal Scripture: Matthew 15:21-28

Hello everyone, my name is Bryan and welcome to Bible Scoop. Today, we hop into the book of Matthew, its 15th chapter verses, 21-28. Let’s go. https://www.bible.com/bible/296/MAT.15.GNBUK

In this scripture, we can see a Canaanite woman looking for help in Jesus because her daughter had an evil spirit in her. Now, Jesus at first doesn’t say anything to her, but after that, he talks really rudely as he fires insults at her. After we read this scripture, we can realize that there are two important takeaways.

The first important takeaway is that when Jesus talked really rudely he didn’t really mean to. He talked rudely because he wanted to test that woman. Jesus wanted to test how deep the woman’s faith was, he wanted to test how sturdy her faith was, and he wanted to test how well this woman would hold onto her faith even in the most hardest times. Now, what the scripture is telling us is that, when we’re in times of trouble and when we think about giving up, remember, that it’s all a test.

The second important takeaway is that, even after Jesus said, “I have been sent only to the lost sheep of the people of Israel.” to his disciples, he still cured a Canaanite woman. The scripture is implying that the country we’re from and the race we are, doesn’t matter to God, because God’s love is independent of the love we have for him.

So, friends let’s remember whenever we feel like giving up or whenever we think that there’s no hope, that this is all a test. A test to see how deep our faith is, a test to see how sturdy our faith is, and a test to see how well we can hold onto our faith even in the most hardest times. And, let’s remember that whatever country or whatever race we are, God’s love is independent of the love we have for him. And, let’s also not forget about THE GREAT IMPORTANCE OF FAITH!
