Day 14 - He Who Holds Sinners Close

 Focal Scripture: Mark 2:13-17

Hello everyone, my name is Bryan and welcome to Bible Scoop. Today, we dive into the book of Mark, its 2nd chapter, verses 13-17. Let’s go! https://www.bible.com/bible/296/MRK.2.GNBUK

In this scripture, we can see Jesus asking a tax collector named Levi, to follow him. And, Levi does and other tax collectors and outcasts follow Jesus too. And, then Jesus has a meal in the house of Levi, and the tax collectors and outcasts that followed Jesus joins them at the table. After that, Jesus is teaching a valuable lesson to the angry and critical Pharisees by saying, “People who are well do not need a doctor, but only those who are sick. I have not come to call respectable people, but outcasts.” So, now we can list out one important reason why Jesus ate his meal with these sinners.

The one important reason as to why Jesus ate his meal with these sinners is because Jesus came down to call the outcasts as said in the Bible verse because God loves no matter how many sins and bad deeds we do in His eyes, and He showed us this by sending his only son down for the forgiveness of our sins. Because he created us to be his children. But, this doesn’t give us a free pass to do the sinful things that we like.

So, friends from today onwards, let’s remember that God loves us and let’s love Him back. Let’s pray to him even if we know that God won’t abandon us, even if we sin, because we’re His children. Let’s remember to do these things, and let’s wait for HE WHO HOLDS SINNERS CLOSE!
