Day 115 - The Path To Eternal Life

 Focal Scripture: John 6:35-46

    Hello everyone, my name is Bryan and welcome to Bible Scoop. Today, we turn our heads to the book of John, its 6th chapter verses, 35-46. https://www.bible.com/bible/296/JHN.6.35-46

    In this scripture, we see Jesus talking to the crowd. Jesus Christ tells them various things that are very important. Jesus Christ is not only telling these important things to them but he meant it for us too. Jesus Christ wants us to pick two essential things from this scripture. Let us look at what it is.

    The first important thing is kept in verse 40, where Jesus is telling the people that whoever believes in Him will get eternal life. Jesus Christ did not only tell this to the people there but to us too. Jesus is reminding us through this verse that Jesus Christ is the one and only way to eternal life. And if we believe in him we will be saved. That is assured.

    The second and last important thing that Jesus wanted to tell us is in verse, 41. Where Jesus Christ says that he is the bread that came down from Heaven. Now for us to understand this more, we have to go back to Exodus 16 (the whole chapter), where they talk about manna that came down from Heaven. God is telling us through verse 41 that Jesus is like manna for us.

    Because manna was given to the Israelites as a symbol of hope. Because the Israelites were starving and they had nothing to eat. They had nothing to stay alive with. But then God sent manna for the Israelites as a saviour for their hunger. 

    Same for us too, God sent down his only son, Jesus Christ into this world as a saviour from our sins. Our sins are like the hunger of the Israelites. For us, hunger is the need to do the things that are bad. Jesus came down and gave us hope for eternal life. By moving away our sins he gave us the path leading to eternal life. He gave us a reason to live, for eternal life. 

    So friends from today onwards, let us remember to never forget these two very important things that the holy Spirit told us today from today’s Gospel Scripture. Let us remember that Jesus Christ is the one and only way to eternal life and only through him can we reach eternal life. And, let us remember one more thing, to love, and be grateful to Jesus Christ who came into this world as manna as a symbol of hope or in other words, came down into this world to give to us, THE PATH TO ETERNAL LIFE!
