Day 114 - An Undying Relationship

 Focal Scripture: Matthew 10:5-16

Hello, my name is Bryan and welcome to Bible Scoop. Today we turn our heads to the book of Matthew, its 10th chapter verses, 5-16. https://www.bible.com/bible/296/MAT.10.5-16

In this scripture, we see Jesus Christ sending away the twelve Apostles with missions. And even through the mission Jesus gave to his Apostles, he had kept something for us to learn too from this particular Bible Scripture. To be precise, 3 things God wanted us to know.

The first thing God wanted us to know is when Jesus said to his Apostles, “Go and preach, ‘The Kingdom of heaven is near!’” He not only did ask the Apostles to preach, but us too. Because as the chosen people of God, we have a responsibility that has to be carried out properly, and as much as we live in this world. Because God which is the Bible has to be preached to the people around the world who have no access to the Bible, which is the way of life, which is Jesus Christ.

And God even says it in the same scripture, to preach the Word of God to the lost sheep of Israel. What does that mean? It means that every single person in this world is Jesus Christ’s children. No matter their race, their culture, their religion. Jesus Christ even says about this matter in another Bible verse, that Jesus Christ did not come to this world to appreciate the followers of Christ but to bring back the lost sheep of Israel.

The second thing God wanted us to know is in verse 11. It says that if you go to any town or village and if they are willing to welcome you, then stay with them. This is the point of view of the Apostles. But if we look at the point of view that God wanted us to look at, it means that we have to be friends with people who accept God, the way of life, Jesus Christ. We have to be friends with people who love God as their father. Because every single person that you know is by God. You have a connection with him/her through God.

The last and very important thing God wanted us to know is in verses 9 and 10. In this, Jesus Christ is saying, “Do not carry any gold, silver, or copper money in your pockets; do not carry a beggar's bag for the journey or an extra shirt or shoes or a stick. Workers should be given what they need. “ This is what he said to the Apostles, but if we dig deep enough we will understand what God meant through this for us.

That is, in this world right now money is the most important thing. Whether it be for living or necessary essentials. And God is telling us that, yes, we need money to live but just use money for very important things, Don’t go overboard with it. Because the reason why we’re living in this world or the reason to be alive is to have a connection with God. That will last forever. Even after our death. That’s what God wants.

So friends from today onwards, let us remember the three important things God showed us today. Let us remember to preach the word of God to the lost sheep of Israel just as Jesus did. Let us remember to be friends with those who accept God as their father. And most importantly let’s not forget that we are living in this world for no other reason but to have a relationship with God that lasts forever and a relationship that can't be broken even by death. Or in other words, AN UNDYING RELATIONSHIP!
